Certification is used by hundreds of receivers worldwide. They trust Return Path’s Certification program to help them make smarter filtering decisions to reduce false positives and improve subscriber experiences. We start from the source of the mail. Because our belief is that if you can trust the sender, you can trust their mail.
Return Path’s Certification program allows you to quickly identify legitimate senders and reduce your false positive rate. From the application process to ongoing compliance, members are held to the highest standards each and every hour.
Those who meet the basic criteria of following best practices are placed on the Safe list as a Safe sender. Those who perform exceptionally well based on reputation metrics will be upgraded free of charge to a higher status reserved for the best of the best mailers – Certified senders. You can easily use these two lists to make informed filtering decisions quickly and efficiently. We’ve gone through the vetting process for you and continue to do so for each and every mailer every hour of the day to ensure that our lists are relaying the right information at all times.
Our Safe list protects 300 million inboxes while our Certified whitelist protects over 1.3 billion mailboxes already, and is checked by ISPs of all shapes and sizes over five billion times every day. Receivers currently partnered with Return Path include Hotmail, Yahoo!, Cox and many more as well as spam filtering solutions Ironport Systems, Spam Assassin and Cloudmark. For the program to work, it’s essential that only the best senders are allowed to join. That’s why we make sure every sender meets our extremely stringent requirements and we constantly re-check to make sure they maintain those high standards.
There are no complicated technical adjustments, software installations or crazy set-up requirements for you to become a data partner. Certification works just like a standard DNS-based blacklist, except in reverse. It’s just a simple “lightweight” plug-in that gives you all the information you need in real time. Providing rewarding incentives to senders helps them become better mailers. Certification helps them follow a strict code of conduct and in return rewards their good behavior with highly valuable benefits such as preferential treatment, image and link enablement, and real time compliance notifications.
