One Program. Two Levels of Trust.

Return Path’s certification program is uniquely designed to help legitimate senders like you achieve higher delivery to the inbox. The certification program offers two levels of trust:  Safe and Certified.  Your level is determined by your business practices and your reputation performance metrics.

Level 1: Safe sender

Leading ISPs and filtering companies rely on our certification program to identify legitimate and reputable businesses.  This means our Safe senders experience improved inbox delivery to over 300 million inboxes worldwide.

To gain entry into the program, you must:

• Pass an audit of your email practices which examines permission practices, email infrastructure, privacy policies and disclosures. 
• Show that you are compliant with all applicable laws including CAN-SPAM
• Only send email from properly configured and authenticated servers.  

Level 2: Certified sender

Senders with superior sending reputations will qualify for an upgrade to our Certified level. Certified senders are recognized by ISPs as the “best of the best” in the email universe and therefore, have privileged access to Return Path’s performance-based whitelist used by over 1.3 billion inboxes worldwide.

To be upgraded to Certified, your email must meet superior performance standards and boast a strong reputation. This means that:

• Your email rarely (if ever) elicit complaints
• Your email hardly ever hits spam traps and,
• Your IP addresses don’t regularly appear on blacklists. 

And with a great reputation comes special privileges. Once you become a Certified sender, you will reap the following benefits at no additional charge:
